Nissan has officially unveiled the all-new D27 Navara in Adelaide, and it’s now built off the same platform as the latest Mitsubishi Triton. Australia and New Zealand are the only confirmed markets for now, and it’ll be sold exclusively as a 4×4 dual-cab auto.
Under the bonnet, the Navara runs the Triton’s 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel (150 kW / 470 Nm) paired with a 6-speed automatic. Fuel use is unchanged from the Triton at 7.7L/100km.
Nissan insists they didn’t simply rebadge a Triton; Premcar spent 12 months and 18,500 km tuning a unique suspension setup for Aussie conditions. The D27 also switches to leaf springs, replacing the old coil-spring rear end.
Visually, Nissan has given it a very different face: a new boxy grille with V-strut detailing, Patrol-style split LED headlights, and a bull-bar-inspired front bumper. The body sides are Triton, but the rear gets Nissan-specific C-shaped LED taillights.
Grades confirmed so far: ST-X, Pro-4X, and the upcoming Pro-4X Warrior by Premcar (previewed today as a concept). The Pro-4X gets Lava Red accents, black 17-inch wheels, AT tyres, a sports bar, and a towbar.
Other key points:
• Two different 4×4 systems depending on grade
• 3500 kg towing, up to 1047 kg payload
• Slightly better ground clearance than the outgoing D23
• Updated cabin with 9-inch infotainment, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto
• Big safety jump: AEB, lane keeping, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, adaptive cruise, 360° camera, and eight airbags
• Will be tested to the tougher 2026 ANCAP standards
• Covered by Nissan’s new “MORE” program: up to 10-year/300,000 km warranty and roadside when serviced with Nissan
Full pricing lands next year, with the new Navara hitting Aussie showrooms in Q1 2026.
