Kia’s affordable EV3 SUV leaked ahead of official reveal

Kia’s upcoming small electric SUV, the EV3, has surfaced just days before its official debut. The EV3, set to be unveiled on May 23, 2024, was revealed in leaked images published by Carwale, showcasing both standard and GT-Line trims.

The EV3 bears a strong resemblance to the concept version Kia introduced last year, albeit with some detailed modifications such as revised headlight internals and flush-mounted door handles.

As expected from Kia, the standard and GT-Line models of the EV3 feature distinct front and rear bumper designs. The GT-Line sports uniquely styled wheels with a squared-off design, less brightwork, and a blacked-out bumper trim, differentiating it from the standard model.

The EV3 maintains a clear familial look, echoing the design elements of its larger siblings, the EV5 and EV9. Notable features include vertically oriented headlights, angular tail lights, and flared fenders. Despite these similarities, the EV3 avoids looking like a mere miniature version of its counterparts, thanks to a more rounded roofline.

Inside, the EV3 retains some conceptual design cues but opts for a more conventional layout with actual switchgear and traditional colour schemes compared to the concept’s mint green. A unified digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen dominate the dashboard, while a pair of vents and a single row of switches sit below. The centre console is prominently designed but does not connect with the centre stack.

The standard EV3 interior features a two-tone blue and grey colour scheme, while the GT-Line offers a predominantly black interior accented with off-white elements.
