In a LinkedIn post referencing the Kia Tasman, Sr. Manager of Ownership Experience Strategy, Joe Perez expressed excitement for what’s coming to North American and hash tagged #eREV:

Infer from that what you will, but I think it’s a clear indication that the Kia’s well-known upcoming pickup for North America will not only come in the form of a battery electric vehicle (BEV) but will also come as a extended range electric vehicle (EREV). EREVs are a type of plug-in hybrid vehicle that operates primarily as an electric vehicle (EV) but includes a petrol or diesel generator to recharge the battery on the go, decreasing dependency on charging stations and extending the vehicle’s overall range, hence the name.
