Kia’s much-anticipated Tasman is set to make its debut at the Jeddah International Motor Show, running from 29 October to 2 November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This announcement comes after the release of Episode 5 of the docuseries The Kia Tasman R&D Test Story, which highlighted the vehicle’s performance trials in the challenging desert terrain of Al Qudra, United Arab Emirates.

With just one episode remaining in the series and new instalments released approximately every fortnight, the final episode is expected to air just before the Tasman’s debut in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, reports suggest Kia suspended operations at its Autoland Hwaseong Plant 1 from late July to mid-August to prepare for the Tasman’s production.

A Kia Tasman Club Facebook Group member has revealed plans to feature the vehicle in a special display at an Australian shopping centre during the Christmas season. The Tasman’s presence will also coincide with the Kia-sponsored Australian Open, running from 12 to 26 January 2025, an event Kia used earlier this year to launch the EV9 in Australia.

“Since 2015, the Australian Open has been an exceptional platform for launching new models, building the Kia brand, and tapping into the premium associations tennis enjoys in the Australian market,” said Kia’s General Marketing Manager, Dean Norbiato. “Our partnership has only strengthened over the years.”
