Great Wall Motor has launched the 2026 Haval Raptor plug-in hybrid (PHEV), also known as the Raptor Hi4, in China.
The model is offered in six variants, with official pricing starting at ¥173,800 (around $38,000 AUD). A limited-time offer drops entry pricing to ¥153,800 (about $33,500 AUD), factoring in cash and trade-in incentives.
Updated styling
The 2026 Raptor PHEV features several exterior updates:
- A reworked front grille with six rectangular black inserts.
- Square-shaped headlights paired with a full-width 1,088 mm light strip.
- “HAVAL” lettering on the tailgate replaced with a GWM badge.
- Redesigned taillights now form a single unit with 300 LED beads.
The SUV keeps its rugged touches – exposed rivets on the arches, a side-opening tailgate, roof platform, and ladder – but now adds new black 19-inch alloy wheels with 225/60 R19 tyres. A fresh Mint Green paint option joins White, Ink Grey, Black, and Cloud Grey.

Cabin and tech
Inside, the Raptor gains:
- New dual-spoke steering wheel and column gear selector.
- 12.3-inch digital driver display.
- 14.6-inch infotainment screen with Coffee OS 3, Huawei HiCar, ICCOA Carlink, and Honour CarLink support.
- Panoramic sunroof and rear sunshades.
- Front seats with power adjustment, heating, and ventilation.
- Rear seats with reclining adjustment between 27° and 32°.
- W-HUD head-up display (trim-dependent).
The higher-spec Ultra and Ultra Navigator trims add premium features like an upgraded speaker system, heated steering wheel, air quality management, and plasma ionisation. The Navigator also includes advanced driver assistance with multiple cameras, radars, 32TOPS computing power, and highway NOA (0–150 km/h).
Powertrain and performance
The PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (115 kW) with a dual-motor system. Combined output is 330 kW and 750 Nm, good for 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
Battery options include:
- 35.43 kWh: 200 km CLTC (151 km WLTC) range.
- 27.54 kWh: 145 km CLTC (115 km WLTC).
- 18.74 kWh: 102 km CLTC (81 km WLTC).
The drivetrain supports seven modes: standard, eco, sport, snow, mud, sand, and four-wheel drive. Torque vectoring and an updated snow/ice algorithm improve response and stability, reducing slippage reaction time by 25%.
Market performance
In July 2025, Haval sold 4,979 units of the Raptor PHEV in China, showing steady demand.
Key rivals in the compact SUV hybrid space include the Jetour Shanhai T2, starting at ¥179,900 (about $39,000 AUD).
